7 Strategies to Naturally Detox your Body

Updated: Nov 16, 2023

Do you detox your body?

Should you detox your body? Absolutely!

And it can be done regularly and naturally!

You don’t need to buy any special pills, powders or potions! You don’t have to go see a specialist. You can do it in the comfort of your own home or really anywhere.

Your body already has an AMAZING built-in system to get rid of waste and toxins through your liver, kidneys, skin, lungs, and large intestine.

Unfortunately, our lifestyles and habits tend to make it harder for our organs to do their jobs well.

The good news is that you can help turn that around by cutting back on the overload your “detox” system has to deal with.

These strategies will help you boost your body’s detox system but you will also be detoxing your body at the same time.

Listen in or read on below for 7 natural strategies to help you detox.

Drink plenty of clean fresh water.

I know I talk about this all the time and it is so important!

Try not putting enough water in your car and see what happens. Just sayin’!

But water is what is going to flush toxins out of your body.

So, staying hydrated is the easiest way to detox and boost your detox system.

Adding a lemon or lime to your water will boost it even a little bit more.

Get enough sleep.

Another one I know I talk about a lot!

But when you get good restful sleep, your body can do what it needs to do by detoxing, healing, repairing, etc.

During the day waste builds up. At night is when your body clears out the waste. Not enough sleep = waste buildup.

Limit alcohol.

Ok I know this isn’t a popular one.

But alcohol really is a toxin. It doesn’t matter if it has fruit in it!

Even my husband’s conventional cardiologist told him that alcohol is very toxic to your heart. So, think about it. Too much alcohol can also make it harder for your liver to do its normal jobs – one of which is helping your body get rid of toxins.

Avoid sugary & processed foods.

You already knew I was going to say this one!

Eating high-calorie foods with little to no vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients is linked to chronic diseases like obesity and diabetes.

These foods can hurt your organs (like kidneys & liver) which are very key for your body’s detox system.

Don’t eat regular table salt.

Among other things, it can lead to your body retaining water. Your body needs salt. If you haven’t already switch over to sea salt now is the time to do it.

Regular table salt, or what you find in the shaker at restaurants, is bleached and stripped of all nutritional value.

Sea salt has a lot of minerals and electrolytes your body needs to function optimally.

Move your body.

Exercise and regular activity lowers inflammation in your body and helps boost your body’s ability to detox.

Sweating helps your body remove toxins through your largest organ, the skin.

Check the toxicity levels of your beauty/self-care and home cleaning products carefully.

Our bodies are bombarded all day long by toxins. Breathing them in while at home or slathering our bodies with them is not going to help our health.

Everything you put on your body goes in your body as if you ate it. What you breathe is also absorbed into your body.

Using natural products on your body and in your home can drastically cut your exposure to chemicals and toxins.

Using the app EWG.org you can check the toxicity of cleaning products as well as your beauty/self-care products.

Detoxing and keeping our detox systems working optimally should be done daily. God created our bodies so forgiving. When we give our bodies what they need they function very well.

It’s never too late to change to healthier eating and improving your habits.

I’ve given you 7 ways to help support your detox system. These 7 ways also double because you will be detoxing your system at the same time if you are taking in less toxins than you are releasing.

Be diligent! You will be amazed how quickly your body will heal and you feel better!

Where will you start to detox or are you already? Pick 1-2 ways to start or add in if you have been intentionally detoxing.
