Do you feel controlled by sugar or sweet cravings?
I totally get it!
I didn’t even realize how bad it was until I was diagnosed with a Candida Overgrowth and the only way to get rid of it is to eliminate sugar and things that turn to sugar in your body.
Candida is a yeast and the only way for it to thrive and survive is for the person infected with the overgrowth to eat sugar. So, it constantly makes you crave sugary and sweet things.
We all have Candida in our bodies and if you eat too many sweet things you can give the Candida what it needs to grow out of control in your body. And the path to get Candida back under control can be very rough.
So, if you have crazy uncontrollable cravings for sweets this may be your issue. And it may not because in scientific studies that were done, they found sugar is more addictive than cocaine.
Yikes!!
That’s right… sugar is more addictive than cocaine!
Either way let’s help you reduce your sugar cravings!
Listen in or read on below for 3 easy steps.
Eat Enough Food
If you have sugary sweet cravings, it doesn’t mean that you have to reduce and restrict everything you eat. It does mean paying attention and being intentional about what you do eat.
When you feel full and satisfied after you eat you are less likely to hunt down sweets.
In order to feel more full and satisfied, make sure you are getting enough fiber, protein and healthy fats. Click HERE to link to my blog/video to help you choose healthy fats.
Eating enough healthy sources of fat, grass-fed, free range, wild caught proteins and healthy fiber will help you cut your cravings. You may even find you will lose some inflammation and weight (if needed) too.
Hydration
Do you drink enough water? Most people actually don’t.
Drinking at least 50-60% of your body weight in ounces of clean filtered water per day is about right. Slowly up the amount each day until you get to this level if you’re not.
Drinking enough water also helps you feel full and will give you more energy. Add a squeeze of lemon or lime for taste and detoxifying.
Because many people don’t drink enough water they will eat more and not always healthy choices.
If you don’t drink enough water, you actually may be dehydrated and not hungry. So, try drinking about 8 - 10 oz of water and wait at least 15 minutes to see if you are truly hungry. If you are, grab a healthy snack or meal.
Get Enough Sleep
Sleep really is so important all the way around when it comes to your health and healing!
If you don’t get enough sleep then this can set you up to crave more sweets and probably make unhealthy choices.
Everyone is different, but getting about 7-9 hours of sleep a night will help you feel refreshed.
Getting enough sleep will give you the energy you need to fight off those sweet cravings when they come.
